The Pyxis Ocean sailed from China to Brazil in September 2023, partially powered by large 'wings'. CargillA cargo ship with a difference is set to dock at the Polish port of Gdynia early next week. The wings have been folded down when the ship docked at ports on its journey. "If you can reduce the volume [of fuel] by 30% you have another gain, [in] that you don't have to put your ship all full of tanks instead of cargo capacity," Dieleman said. One of the folded-down 'wings' that helped the Pyxis Ocean sail from China to Brazil, arriving in September 2023.

WARSAW, June 30 (Reuters) - A Polish woman and her 7-year-old son have died after plunging from a Baltic Sea ferry travelling from Sweden to Poland, a Polish police spokesman said on Friday. Swedish authorities said on Thursday the child had fallen off the vessel and that the mother proceeded to jump overboard in an attempted rescue. The Swedish ferry, Stena Spirit, was in the Baltic midway through its journey to Gdynia in Poland from Karlskrona in Sweden when the incident occurred, rescue officials said on Thursday. "At the moment we have no information whether this was due to a malfunction of the ferry," Stena Line spokesperson Agnieszka Zembrzycka told TVN 24. Swedish police issued an appeal to Polish passengers via Poland's state-run news agency PAP asking for information that could explain how the accident occurred.

The Pentagon on Wednesday announced a new security assistance package worth up to $175 million for Ukraine, including depleted uranium ammunition for U.S. Abrams tanks. A by-product of uranium enrichment, depleted uranium is used for ammunition because its extreme density gives rounds the ability to easily penetrate armor plating. Critics say there are dangerous health risks from ingesting or inhaling depleted uranium dust, including cancers and birth defects. Russia has long accused the West of using Ukraine to wage a proxy war aimed at inflicting a "strategic defeat" on Moscow.

GDYNIA, Poland, April 20 (Reuters) - At 88, Polish retiree Piotr Dudek is hoping to officially become the world's oldest windsurfer - still relishing the battle with the wind and waves as he takes to the water and teaches children to enjoy the sport. Dudek has been windsurfing for 40 years and is known by the nickname "Junior", coined for him by his friends when he was around 80. "The challenge is to learn to surf and to control the elements, nature, because it is a struggle with the wind, with water, with a wobbly board. It is a sport that requires a lot of physical fitness," said Dudek, who was a sailor before he retired. But the fact that he could be the world's oldest surfer took him by surprise.
